She holds a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Loyola University Chicago and brings over 20 years of experience as an outpatient therapist supporting children, adults, and families through trauma, crisis, and complex life transitions. Her approach is eclectic and deeply trauma informed, drawing from trauma theory, mindfulness practices, expressive and sensorimotor therapies, and attachment theory. Karen also integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Positive Psychology to best support each client’s unique needs. In addition to her clinical work, Karen coordinates FSC’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Internship Program, provides supervision and mentorship to emerging professionals, and brings a genuine enthusiasm for innovation as one of FSC’s resident mental health tech enthusiasts.
