Dr. Bate is a postdoctoral therapist at Family Service Center. He completed his master’s in clinical psychology in 2021 and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2025 from Rosalind Fraklin University of Medicine and Science. George has experience in therapy and assessment across a number of settings, including Lovell V.A., NorthShore University Health System, Head Start, and Healthy Life Chicago. George believes in creating a warm and supportive environment for patients to safely navigate difficult emotions and conversations. George believes in the use of evidence-based, research-supported therapy treatments and skills, which are adapted to meet a specific person’s goals, background, and personality. George incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Positive Psychology into his practice and has been trained in CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD), Exposure Therapy for anxiety, IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy), PE (Prolonged Exposure for PTSD), Relaxation Training for Insomnia, ROSE (Reach Out, Stand Strong, Essentials Program for Pregnant Mothers), and WET (Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD).
